Maj Toure Is Taking Action In Chicago
A recent story from the Daily Mail out of the UK, profiles the efforts of gun rights activist Maj Toure and his solid grasp of the correlation between Chicago’s strict gun control laws and hyper-violence, as well as his diligent efforts to responsibly arm and educate citizens.
However, the story’s author loses credibility with readers with this off-the-mark title to the article: “What could possibly go wrong? ‘Black Guns Matter’ campaigner claims he will cut violence in inner cities like Chicago by arming residents with more LEGAL firearms.”
Obviously, writer Hannah Al-Othman, like the majority of her fellow UK citizens, fails to grasp the role that stringent firearms restrictions play in fueling the wildfire of gun deaths in the Windy City. Once again a disproportionate rate of homicides in the Windy City claimed more murders than New York and Los Angeles combined for another the calendar year.
What makes the post-reading experience more painful, is that Al-Othman inadvertently makes a compelling case for Toure’s organization, Black Guns Matter, and his sensible crusade to directly address the violence. So why not give the piece a different title and save the forthcoming strife from Second Amendment advocates for the needless sarcasm? She also includes the usual quotes used by gun control organizations in direct response to the Toure’s proactive ventures.
If only the title of the article was clear or the writer actually understood the nuances of self-defense when promoting liberty, and why Chicago is the murder capital of the US, a vast chasm would not exist between sanity and post-modern radicalism. Of course in the end she deserves a pass for using the standard excuse when called out, she was simply being ironic and it is the fault of the reader for not “getting it.”
