UTAH Governor Signs Bill Into Law Allowing Concealed Carry For Young Adults

March 24, 2017 By Conn Williamson

With an emphasis to allow young women added protection against potential violence and sexual assault on college campuses, Governor Gary Herbert made it legal Thursday for persons 18 years of age and older to obtain concealed carry permits.

The Republican politician has enjoyed a busy season in the Beehive state as a legislative record of 535 bills passed the legislature, including 313 signed by Hebert.

According to Keepandbeararms.com and KSL-TV, young adults between the ages of 18 through 20 now have the opportunity to earn a provisional permit if eligibility requirements are met and training is completed. The new law will adhere to reciprocity policy between other states with similar legislation.
