The convention comes at a time when several states controlled by Democrats have been ramping up their efforts to ratchet down on Second Amendment rights. Gun owners are looking for promised action by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s “Second Amendment Task Force,” formed to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens. The Department of Justice is already probing delays in issuing concealed carry permits by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and more recently, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms called on Bondi to have the Task Force focus on 12 states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington.
There is already a petition to have the DOJ challenge Colorado’s SB25-003 gun control law.
No doubt there will be plenty of talk about the Task Force during this weekend’s convention.
