Two female police officers were questioning a suspect in patrol car as pedestrians ambled by. One passers-by was 16-year-old Kiya Ingham, a teen kick boxer carrying his gym bag.
Suddenly, the shirtless 31-year-old suspect had just forced his way out of a police patrol car and shoved two female officers aside in a bid to evade arrest.
Leaping into action out of nowhere, Ingham chased him down with a flying tackling as the suspect attempted to flee down the street. Footage shows the teen kick boxer drop his bag and launched himself at the older man, grabbing him around the neck and pulling him to the ground.
The two officers were then able to detain the man until police support arrived.
Kiya has now been awarded a top bravery award for his heroics, on a busy road in East Sussex on June 10, the MailOnline reports.
The suspect had been arrested over a domestic violence incident and has since been convicted to 100 hours of community service after pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer.
