Day Three of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia may be all glitter on some networks, but the party and its nominee have some problems to overcome, according to two polls released this week that cannot be good news.
And even worse for Democrats, RealClearPolitics reports that GOP nominee Donald Trump has jumped in the polls, with the Los Angeles Times/USC poll showing Trump up 7 points.
Rasmussen Reports revealed yesterday that 70 percent of likely U.S. voters believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. Only 24 percent think the nation is on the right track.
A new Gallup survey found that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s favorability rating has plummeted to 38 percent (it was up to 55 percent in 2014), and that’s down even from a month ago, when it was at 41 percent. Of course, 71 percent of those identified as Democrats and “left-leaning independents” view Clinton favorably, Gallup noted.
Bernie Sanders supporters walked out of the convention hall yesterday; hundreds of them, according to some reports.
While some networks may be trying to portray the atmosphere inside the Wells Fargo convention hall as all hugs and kisses, the truth appears to be far different. Even Bill Clinton’s almost fairytale narrative about his wife last night may not fix the fracture.
Many “Sandernistas” are adamantly saying they will not vote for Hillary. They may vote for the Green Party in protest.
This week has been marred already by revelations of DNC dishonesty in the primary process, tilting that process in Clinton’s favor. The Sandernistas are furious, and they are very disappointed in Sen. Bernie Sanders for essentially selling out and throwing his support to Clinton.
And yesterday a video surfaced featuring a Clinton activist explaining how they will ban guns under a Clinton administration through the use of deception. Instead of outright promoting a gun ban, she suggests using phrases like “common sense gun legislation.”
She then remarks, “You say s— like that, and then people will buy into it.”
