During an attempted bold daytime robbery, a Michigan man refused to capitulate to the demands of his attackers and shot one in the subsequent altercation. According to authorities, the victim was walking on the sidewalk in downtown Benton Harbor, near the police station, when two men called him over. As the victim approached the men, one of the robbers pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim refused and was shot in the face. He returned fire, striking one of the thugs. The other suspect fled, but was later taken arrested.
There was no medical condition update on the victim and both suspects are currently in police custody.
