The much talked about athletic exploits of former pro football quarterback Tim Tebow appear to have taken a bit of a turn.
According to ESPN, his agents announced today that Tebow, who currently is a broadcaster at the cable sports network, wants to try his hand at professional baseball and will hold a workout for interested Major League Baseball clubs later this month. He does have past baseball experience, having played high school baseball in Florida.
While he prepares, though, for his shot at the big leagues, one independent minor league baseball club is ready to sign him to a contract now, with Fox Sports reporting the Schaumburg Boomers, a suburban Chicago-based squad in the Frontier League, a league comprised of several clubs in the Great Lakes region of the country, has already offered him a contract.
