An incident that borders on the surreal in St. Louis, Missouri early Tuesday demands clarification on numerous fronts.
According to authorities, a 30-year-old man was attempting to retrieve a stolen gun from inside the house, when the homeowner confronted him. A struggled ensued and the homeowner was able to wrestle away the weapon and shoot the intruder in the abdomen. The perpetrator was later taken into custody by police and transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Court documents show that the two men were previously acquainted and that the gun in question was reported as stolen from Arkansas in 2015. The burning question is why the resident possessed a firearm on the hot list?
It’s safe to say that local investigators have merely touched the tip of the proverbial iceberg in the preliminary discovery process and this is not the final time the homeowner will be seen in the news cycle.
