THE DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE
Even as President Obama is packing his bags and Hillary Clinton is licking her wounds, Judicial Watch has confirmed that ISIS has joined forces with Mexican drug cartels in cells located just south of the U.S. border in order to smuggle terrorists into the country.
According to federal authorities, an ISIS operative who was arrested and criminally charged in Ohio this month claims that the terrorist group has cells of “brothers” in Mexico.
Erick Jamal Hendricks has been charged with conspiring to provide ISIS material support. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the 35-year-old — who lived for a short time in Charlotte, North Carolina — tried to “recruit people to train together and conduct terrorist attacks in the United States,” according to the government’s criminal complaint.
Judicial Watch has reported for years on the connection between drug cartels, corruption and terrorism on the southern border. Last spring, the conservative watchdog organization broke a story about an ISIS camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
“Hendricks contacted another ISIS operative, referred to as “CW-1”, who was arrested last summer, about working with him and several other terrorists to carry out attacks. “Hendricks allegedly told CW-1 that he ‘needed people’ and wanted to meet in person; that there were several ‘brothers’ located in Texas and Mexico; that he was attempting to ‘get brothers to meet face to face;’ and that he wanted ‘to get brothers to train together,’” according to a DOJ announcement. Hendricks and his sleeper cell targeted U.S. military members and a woman who organized a “Draw Muhammad” cartoon contest in Garland, Texas last May. Two men in body armor with assault rifles tried to carry out an attack in the Dallas suburb building where the event took place but were shot dead by police. The FBI says Hendricks was connected with the terrorism-related shooting.”
Earlier this year a top ranking Homeland Security official also confirmed that Mexican drug cartels are helping ISIS sneak across the southern border to scope out targets for terrorist attacks.
ISIS operative Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir has reportedly been training militants just across the U.S. border near Ciudad Juarez for the past year.
Khabir told the Italian newspaper il Giornale that the border region is so open that he “could get in with a handful of men, and kill thousands of people in Texas or in Arizona in the space of a few hours,” reports The Gateway Pundit.
According to the intelligence, Khabir now provides training to thousands of jihadis – mostly from Syria and Yemen – at the base in Anapra, less than 10 miles from the Texas border.
The Obama administration has repeatedly denied the existence of the Islamic terror cells operating and training in Mexico, despite the fact that a number of high-level law enforcement, intelligence and military sources on both sides of the border have provided Judicial Watch with evidence to the contrary.
Between the deliberate importation of un-vetted Islamic refugees, failure to acknowledge the existence of jihadists training on America’s porous southern border and the threat posed by lone-wolf operatives in the U.S., the Obama administration has left the nation in perilous danger of future terror attacks on the homeland. The question is WHY?
