The Hollywood glorification of holiday travel and intrigue within the movies “Home Alone”, “Die Hard 2”, or “Trains, Planes and Automobiles”, is probably not going to be duplicated in the average December visit to the airport for the height of the seasonal rush. We certainly hope that the renegade anti-hero played by Bruce Willis is not forced to make waste of the local jetliner hub in order to exterminate a group of heartless criminals in scoring one for democracy and the good guys.
The following list of the top ten US airports (thank you Wikipedia) should test the resolve and Christmas cheer of every holiday traveler en route to their destination, whether it be through the snowy drifts of the Midwest to grandmother’s house, or baking on the sunny West coast beaches and celebrating the holiday with a Corona or two.
Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport- Atlanta, GA
Los Angeles International Airport- Los Angeles, CA
O’Hare International Airport- Chicago, IL
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport- Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
John F. Kennedy International Airport- New York, NY
Denver International Airport- Denver, CO
San Francisco International Airport- San Francisco, CA
McCarran International Airport- Las Vegas, NV
Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Seattle, WA
According on the numbers, flying through Seattle or hitting the casinos in Las Vegas, offers a more stressful experience than experiencing the airports in Miami, Philadelphia, or Detroit. Well, maybe not Detroit.
