So Far Off Track That Even Liberals Are Scratching Their Heads
The BBC reported that London Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced his plan to ban fast food advertisements throughout the capital Friday; warning residents of the “ticking time bomb” of obesity as the UK’s murder rate soars.
Blame it all on insufficient budget and control everything that doesn’t matter. That seems to be the policy of London’s mayor as he works to regulate knives, pseudo-personal space, diet, and now advertising – all while the murder rate in his beloved city is going through the roof.
According to Hannity.com:
Khan unveiled his proposal to rid the city of banners and bus ads that promote “unhealthy food and drink” this week, striking the images from the London Underground and other public places.
The mayor claims the ban will help “reduce the influence and pressure that can be put on children and families to make unhealthy choices.”
“That is why I am proposing to ban adverts for harmful junk food from our entire Tube and bus network,” he added.
Despite his new efforts to crackdown on junk food, Khan found himself under fierce scrutiny over his seeming inability to handle London’s sweeping crime wave; with murder rates in the capital up over 44% in just two years.
The mayor vowed to address the recent spikes in stabbings and shootings claiming, as always, that the escalating violence was the result of “budget cuts.”
