Botched Communication Lands Ranting Liberal On Fox News

July 24, 2018 By Conn Williamson

Producers at Fox News learned the hard way to be extremely cautious when scheduling airtime for a Democrat, even when the individual shares a common viewpoint with the network.

In what was television gold and a brief respite for viewers from the calculated programming flow, a live broadcast of Fox & Friends First was briefly unintentionally hijacked by a democratic Massachusetts state senator, who apparently had a personal message for President Trump. Unfortunately, somebody at the network will soon be joining the talent pool vying for producer jobs on alternative digital streaming channels, while the politician will remain running for office, a position obviously bolstered by the brief appearance on a national show.

The original plan orchestrated by Fox News producers was to air commentary from Arizona Democrat Ann Fitzpatrick, who is actually a proponent of ICE, reports The Independent. Instead, the television gods wreaked havoc with the intended segment along with a little shove from Fitzpatrick’s press contact Joe Katz. As host Jillian Mele introduced Fitzpatrick along with an opening question about immigration, the impostor, Barbara L’Italien, revealed herself on camera and immediately went into an impassioned anti-Trump diatribe (read not so skillfully from a teleprompter) protesting the separation of families at the border, and co-host Rob Schmitt openly shared the momentary confusion of which temporarily paralyzed the entire broadcast crew.

Apparently, L’Italien (great name) played it cagey and cool throughout the whole pre-production process until the live segment, as Fox staff believed they had Fitzpatrick on the live feed until the “oops” moment.

The caveat to the comedy of a live television dumpster fire that probably will be eligible for the worst collective effort in producing a broadcast segment, is the actions of Katz in allegedly accepting the invitation of the network on Fitzpatrick’s behalf, only to diabolically botch the chain of communications. He burned the network in response to the event in a scathing, and possibly telling comment.

In a situation which has now pierced the threshold of the “she said, he said” realm, no on will ever know who actually dropped the ball in articulating an unexpected and overall entertaining moment in the usual regimented and highly scripted world of personality-based television news.
