The casualties continue to accumulate like a toxic red-tainted snowdrift, poisoned heavy metals and the presence of a left of center bias, as the arduous battle continues on the electronic hemisphere of social network personal and group pages.
In the stretch run of the dwindling days and hours until what is sure to be a controversial and frenetic orgy of visceral opinion posts on the state of the midterm, the monstrous online entity is gearing up moderation efforts towards conservatives, with Dennis Prager of talk radio ilk enduring the latest wrath of mechanized censorship, reports the BBC.
Prager, who is the face and voice of the organization and right leaning think tank of Prager University, and hosts a nationally syndicated radio talk show distributed by Salem, had the privilege of a two posts removed by F***book which allegedly violated community standards. In a retched epidemic of a subjective witch hunt towards conservative viewpoint, moderators on the platform are hiding behind the guise of ambiguous language in the “Terms and Conditions” section of the end user agreement in censoring content. Apparently, certain posts on the Prager University page were identified as including hate speech. But, alas there is a God.
Fortunately, members of PragerU appealed the removal of content, and F***book backtracked and restored the posts in question, even going as far in offering a public apology to the organization. While the swift reversal by the social network was surprising, it was not shocking, as last week Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey dropped the bomb in a CNN interview that online entities have an overwhelming left-leaning bias. Even with the truth of liberalism influencing moderation policy, and a tattered history of data breaches and the unethical sharing of personal information, the use of social networking is ingrained in culture and a testament to Einstein’s axiom regarding insanity.
The addiction to instant gratification and emotional validation has created a conundrum of epic proportions, and with the younger generations carefree as to the concepts of privacy and fake news, it is just a matter of time before the infestation of entitlement takes down the average collective IQ score by ten points, in a society absent from critical thinking skills. And this is exactly what the modern advertising agencies and data collection facilities disguised as social networks want in engineering behavior, while making a hell of a profit, and changing the world for the worst. Private businesses should be allowed to run things as they see fit, however it is also responsibility of end users to be aware of what they are actually signing up for and not giving an entity a voice of a game changing authority.
Folks need to realize that life was pretty damn good before smartphones, devices, selfies, and likes, and sharing a tired meme or a tweet is not an accomplishment, but a detriment.
