The first-of-its-kind “Rod of Iron Freedom Festival” will be held this weekend at the Tommy Gun Warehouse in Greeley, Penn., and opening remarks will be delivered by Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation and chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
Some 2,000 people have already pre-registered for the event, which is described by Kahr Arms as a “Second Amendment Rally celebrating freedom, faith and family.” Kahr is sponsoring the event, which will also feature appearances by Pastor HJ Sean Moon with the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary ministry, John Velleco executive vice president at Gun Owners of America, Second Amendment activist Mark Robinson, activist Maj Toure, Benghazi survivor John “Tig” Tiegen, head of the Beyond the Battlefield Foundation; Navy veteran and former federal air marshal Craig Sawyer, plus Dr. Joseph Green, founder of The 2019 Movement, Amanda Suffecool, co-host of the syndicated Eye on the Target radio show; Andy “The Gun Guy” Hallinan; Matt Guedes, executive director of Camp Freedom, and Kelly Ann Pidgeon, CEO of Armed and Feminine.
In addition to providing the opening speech, Gottlieb is also scheduled to teach Second Amendment seminars both Saturday and Sunday.
Pre-registration is required for this event, which Gottlieb predicted “is going to be one of the largest and most important Second Amendment events held this year.”
According to a SAF news release, the event kicks off this Saturday morning with a blueberry pancake breakfast, with a 10 a.m. opening ceremony. Afternoon activities include an open shooting range, photo session with VIPs, youth activities, seminars, a firearms auction benefitting the National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation and Gun Owners of America, a concealed carry fashion show and more. An awards ceremony begins at 5 p.m. followed by an evening music festival featuring music by Brokedown and Rebuilt, and Madison Rising.
A fireworks show is scheduled Saturday evening.
This weekend’s festival is not the only pro-Second Amendment event on the fall calendar for rights activists. A “rally for the Second on the 2nd (of November)” is also in the works. This rally will be held in Washington, D.C. in front of the U.S. Capitol building, and organizers are feverishly putting together a program they hope will attract thousands of Second Amendment activists from across the map.
However, they could be up against two things: Weather and fall hunting seasons.
They’ve got a Facebook page with details. The event will kick off at 1 p.m., with appearances by Dianna Muller, founder of the D.C. Project, Erich Pratt with Gun Owners of America, Craig DeLuz from the Firearms Policy Coalition, Top Shot champion Chris Cheng and many others.
Organizers are telling grassroots activists, “you can have results or excuses…not both.”
