Time is running out on the auction of a one-of-a-kind Ruger No. 1 Single Shot rifle, donated from the personal collection of nationally-syndicated Gun Talk Radio” host Tom Gresham as a fund-raiser for the Second Amendment Foundation.
Bidding ends Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at 6:22 p.m. for the auction being conducted by Dury’s in San Antonio, Texas.
This rifle is the only No. 1 chambered for the 6.5 PRC cartridge. It’s got a 24-inch barrel, topped by a Leupold VX-3I 4.5-14x40mm scope.
The donation comes from Ruger, Leupold, Dury’s Guns and Gresham.
Ruger’s No. 1 Single Shot is the stuff from which legends are made. This rifle, especially, is one worth having, and not just for the one-of-a-kind chambering. The stock is beautifully checkered and finished with a marvelous pattern, and there are QD sling swivel studs fore and aft, and a rubber recoil pad on the butt.
The Second Amendment Foundation has become famous for education and especially litigation against unconstitutional gun control laws. It brought the landmark case of McDonald v. City of Chicago to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2010, which nullified the Chicago handgun ban and, more importantly, incorporated the Second Amendment to the states via the 14th Amendment.
Gresham has hosted Gun Talk Radio for 25 years. His three-hour Sunday broadcasts cover all the bases, from politics to hunting, reloading and competition shooting. It airs on more than 255 radio stations from 2 to 5 p.m. (Eastern).
