Declaring “we’ve got a fight on our hands,” the Second Amendment Foundation announced Wednesday as the organization has “joined forces” with Parscale Strategies, a group specializing in media marketing, to produce digital media marketing and social media advertising.
The announcement came on the heels of the U.S. Senate runoff elections in Georgia, which appear to have both been won by Democrats, producing a 50-50 split in the Senate, effectively putting complete control of the government in the hands of Democrats on Capitol Hill. For gun rights activists, it amounts to a daunting battle on the horizon to protect their right to keep and bear arms.
Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock defeated incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler while a much closer race between Democrat Jon Ossoff and incumbent Sen. David Perdue was still being decided with absentee ballots remaining to be counted. With a 50-50 split in the Senate, all tie votes will be decided by Vice President Kamala Harris once she takes office and becomes Senate President.
Brad Parscale, founder and owner of Parscale Strategies, served as a digital consultant and political adviser to Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, and also served for a time as campaign manager. He also served as the digital media director on the president’s 2016 campaign. Gottlieb describes him as “an expert in building new media data bases and dramatically increasing the size of his clients and their branding.”
“This is a major step for SAF,” said founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb. “Brad built the whole Trump Facebook, Google, Twitter and other digital media campaigns. This will undoubtedly take SAF to new levels of support and activity, which we predict will become increasingly important as 2021 unfolds.”
SAF has signed an agreement with Parscale Strategies to produce digital media marketing and social media advertising, the foundation said in a news release.
“A modern fight to protect the Second Amendment is happening now,” Parscale observed. “Extreme factions of our nation want to eliminate the right to bear arms and the Second Amendment Foundation is on the front lines to protect it. I’m honored to join the fight to make sure Americans know the great work of the Second Amendment Foundation and protect our great Constitutional freedoms.”
“This move will help grow our Second Amendment family,” Gottlieb said. “We’ll be able to expand our Second Amendment First Responders program and our Winning Firearms Freedom, One Lawsuit-at-a-Time project.”
“This will take SAF to new levels of support and influence at a time when it is most needed to counter the radical gun ban lobby and the Biden Administration,” Gottlieb observed.
Parscale began working for the Trump organization in 2011. At that time, his focus was on designing and developing websites. Eventually, Parscale became the Trump campaign’s digital media director in mid-2016.
With threats of major new attacks on Second Amendment rights from the incoming administration, Gottlieb said the significance of this new effort cannot be over-stated.
“We’ve got a fight on our hands,” he said. “Protecting the right to keep and bear arms is going to require every resource we can muster. I am personally delighted to have Brad Parscale in our corner because the next couple of years are going to be filled with challenge.”
