The vile attack on sensibility and logic persists from a group of actors who foist the idealistic delusion of a perpetually hugging one-world nation sipping rainbow colored lattes, yet are relentlessly content on assaulting anyone or any group on the right side of the political ledger. While Ted Cruz continues to be the official trending Rosie O’Donnell pinata of the social networks in receiving regular savage gang beatings, the Hollywood perpetrators should not be mistaken for the meticulous diabolical ranks of Orwell’s “Thought Police”, as universal likeability, and minor talents cannot replace innovative and studious accomplishments. With the coarseness and vapid nature of the incessant offensives against the personal character and integrity of political adversaries, “Thought Jailers” is a more apt title, as the motivations of regular vaporizations rival the climate of Oceania, and there is a feral quality to the mob injustice in the medieval torture apparatuses of rhetoric.
Cruz recently had the audacity to log onto Twitter, and point out that more often than not, a climatologist is placed in the unenviable role as the protagonist, only to run straight into the brick wall of a pack of hyenas curiously led by the headline star of one of the senator’s favorite movies of all-time. Apparently, the new world order digital protocol that one has to “liked and respected” by cast members to formulate a contrarian opinion, or overtly enjoy a film. The urban dictionary of hard knocks and obvious guy translates this to mean “Conservatives are not permitted to record and post any thought under the umbrella of entertainment, because if you disagree with us philosophically, you are evil.”
After authoring his scathing tweet, the senator from Texas incumbent, who has shown major love for the film “The Princess Bride” on Twitter and in real life, all hell broke loose and the another mechanism of cancel culture was deployed in another fruitless attempt to erase the Cruz from digital history.
The lead of the cult classic, Cary Elwes, responded to Cruz’s applause with an obligatory nasty, smarmy, and sanctimonious post, with all the elements indicating an inferiority complex spawned by elitist tendencies.
It seems as though a radicalized compartment of Tinseltown is willing to admonish folks right of center, at any electronic time and any electronic space, which is a baffling mentality considering the election of the Biden Administration, the large proportion of the US population that vote red, and also spend their hard earned money to watch movies, or access the many options of subscription-based multimedia options. The practice is ridiculously incorrigible by a troupe of method who can’t see past their reflection in the mirror, and who have adopted a pseudo-intellectual affinity for big government and “science”, in doing much more damage than good for the economy and the environment.
The propensity of certain individuals to use generalizations and reductionism to castigate a group of politicians and more importantly voters, is problematic on a multitude of levels, and the most compelling reason to end the experiment of social media, before the county disintegrates into a blathering mass of visceral hyperbole and continuous digital pillow fighting, undermining any possibility for unity save for the toxic and counterproductive practice of group think. In at least lacking any semblance of nuance or critical thinking skills on the internet behemoth communities, or as much as is allowed by the platforms deliberately configured to abbreviate thought and deconstruct language, the reprehensible ambushes on Republican lawmakers outside of Trump’s sphere of influence are damming examples not in the sense of simple criticism, but by forwarding the narrative that an individual is an evil hate monger or worse because of the little “R” next to their name, emotionally charged propaganda becomes what is accepted as truth. An intolerable reality that exacerbated by the information age and miniscule attention spans only made more attenuated by the insatiable drive to be connected through the multitudes of devices and platforms.
Elwes’s snarky barb and declaration that no one or nothing shall get in the way of a chosen agenda, while resorting to sophomoric cool kid playground tactics of ridiculous broad generalizations, diminishes the existence of the prevalence of good and hard working women and men on the conservative half of the spectrum both in politics and in life. Unfortunately, the extremists, the gullible and the high impressionable younger generations, who don’t have access to substantive and reasonable source on domestic and global affairs, content predominately generated on the internet and social networking walls in the absence of research or skepticism, is perceived as fact. The severe consequences of this contemporary nightmarish phenomenon tear at the basic fabric of productive society, and ruin individual lives, which ironically produces a detrimental and regressive cascading effect.
With the myriad of customizable entertainment options currently available that cater to every personality type, silver screen celebrities of the past should be very careful in bombarding social media with political rants to shamelessly stigmatize parties and candidates that they do not agree with. To disagree is a completely differing concept than to resort to back alley methods of street justice in braining someone’s reputation with a lead pipe. Now that cancel culture has been unleashed from Pandora’s Box, the tide can flow both ways in boycotts, or complete indifference. This potential alienation of key demographics could very well become a mass evacuation.
After being dealt with a quantum singularity in the wake of the Trump administration, Cruz and fellow Republicans have to do a much better job in rebranding a party that uses the ancient slogans surrounding the ideas of tradition, decency, small government, verbiage that hasn’t changed for three decades. It all starts with showing at least of a semblance of innovation on the tech front, in evolving beyond savvy, and not being tempted to engage with celebrity keyboard warriors, who will unscrupulously post any claim, or anything, as no rules apply to the progressive agenda.
However, it all boils down to the inability of good percentage of the guilt-ridden notorieties of Hollywood not being able to justify their affluence generated from a lottery odds superior genetic rapport with the masses, the mastery of a minor skill, and dealing with borderline psychological issues in living charmed existence. But when one is in the highest tax bracket, it is always sensible to vote for a candidate or initiative that raises taxes on property and wealth. It is okay to spend other people’s money, especially the middle class movie fanatics, who buy movie tickets, and have now evolved to using pay-per-play. With everything being equal, when the reactionaries are enabled and incited by Hollywood elites to ransack corporate holdings and loot exclusive suburban neighborhoods for the will of the Democratic state, ironically the mansions and walls built by movie revenues will be the first be trashed and cannibalized to brandish an iron curtain of submission stabbed into the heart of liberty and freedom.
Grab the popcorn and a read book, as the retched purges are only the beginning.
