The progression to full-blown progressivism is a futile study in the failure to germinate effective critical thinking skills, and as a result, the Energizer bunny is now a more relevant icon to Tinseltown than Mickey Mouse, as the narrative is hokier than a pretentious dinner theater production of “Trance Hamlet”, without the obligatory glow sticks. The required meme would have the corporate rabbit beating his drumsticks against an animated map of California on top of the drum. In a testament to the failure of the education system teaching effective chemistry in exchange for five decades of indoctrination consisting of a regular diet of junk science as a supplement to the school lunch program, California state lawmakers have fallen hard for the battery, while banishing small combustion engines to the wastelands of the Mohave desert.
In a maelstrom of ambiguous and confusing language that does not make a lick of sense on all levels, Governor Gavin Newsom and minions have struck again, in authoring detrimental bureaucracy which beckons temporary moral superiority and instant gratification, while exacerbating a cavalcade of pressing issues which residents face. On Saturday, the dear leader of the Leftist coast collective of activists and artists signed a measure into law completely banning gas-powered engines by 2024 for devices such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, generators, and golf carts. Assembly bill 1346, part of Newsom’s scheme to transform the state into a zero emission dystopia by 2035, will strain and already overburdened energy grid, as California imports 35% of its electricity from neighboring states in the Pacific Northwest, and the Southwest.
The fundamentally flawed mandate, not only ignores the state’s pending thermodynamic crises, but concisely botches basic guidelines of sustainability in creating more environmental headaches, an irony that is lost on the career politicians who authored the bill, and clearly lack any traits conducive to practical engineering skills, or lateral thinking abilities.
With the gravitation away from the combustion reaction of gas engines, where carbon dioxide and water are the bi-products, lithium-based batteries will now flood the marketplace, and along with the influx of technology comes the serious issues of net production costs, the effects from recharging, and of course the daunting challenge of how to safely dispose of the toxic used cores without triggering a proximal environmental hazard. These viable concerns, along with the precarious state of California’s energy grid, has reasonable individuals pulling their hair our, while Democratic politicians across the nation salivate at the possibility of forming tax-payer funded billion dollar cottage industries in propagating increased government infrastructure and sparking inflation.
One key point that is lost in the proverbial chaotic shuffle of incompetence, is the pending assault on the landscape industry, as small neighborhood business will be the most vulnerable in being forced to purchase equipment at double the cost just to stay in business. What only adds fuel to the fire, is that these workers clear away tons of brush on a weekly basis, dry plant matter that creates a wildfire threat during the Summer months. And one cannot go throughout the entire news cycle if there is not a headline or 200 reporting on the devastation endured by residents losing love ones or their homes to raging infernos during the seasonal assault by mother nature on populated suburbs and rural communities. However, as there exists an abundance of indifference and shrieking arrogance in Sacramento, society must pay the price for the self-gravitating policies of the majority running the state into the ground.
While extremists have clamored for a “dog ban” of poopless pooch pursuit, at least the Dewey decimal system of dog doo is a legitimate gripe, as the net tonnage dumped on the sanitation system by the pet explosion is enough to drive any sane resident bonkers. Rumor has it that Newsom and cronies are already entertaining how they will exploit a “robo-dog” revolution of “Fidos” chasing drones in the park and requiring batteries and not biscuits to culminate California’s downfall to universal insanity.
