Washington state Governor Jay Inslee epitomizes trendy hypocrisy.
The hipster-friendly career politician with a wealth of incredulities and the mentality of an activist poser taking up numerous fabricated causes just to fit in under a deluge of radical ideology, is still exercising his emergency powers as Covid-19 cases wane. His egregious actions are a mere microcosm of deeper issues stemming from an aggressively unsustainable inane and idealistic political environment, where firearms and law enforcement are taboo, and criminals are enabled as public safety approaches a Mad Max cinematic violent world of anarchy and organized chaos.
In responding to the grating cries for justice of extremists, Inslee and colleagues drafted and passed sweeping mandates under the guise of “police reform”, House Bill 1310, in compromising the safety of officers and hampering badge holders from effectively doing their job. The regressive legislation signed into law last year, was spawned by self-proclaimed “abolitionists” who have a toxic hate towards law enforcement, and believe that misdemeanors, such as shoplifting, vandalism or low-grade assaults should not be prosecuted. Voters in the crime-ridden streets of Seattle, narrowly avoided disaster in 2021, by nearly electing an extremist prosecutor candidate with a despicable social media track record of bashing police, while applauding the burning of a former police station in the East precinct of the city.
Recently, Inslee and colleagues retracted (House Bill 2037) some of the caustic measures covered under the anti-law enforcement bill that indicates that the Governor is displaying a rare application of common sense, cowering to legacy Democrats, or citizens have become so fed-up with the decay of their neighborhoods, that liberals are feeling the heavy pressure of losing their majority in the urban centers of Seattle and Tacoma. The diversion in support is a positive development for Conservatives and moderates in Washington state, but also on a national scale as the crucial midterm elections are less than 8 months away.
During Inslee’s forgettable and insufferably unproductive tenure, Seattle erupted in violence as Antifa and other militantly organized countercultural groups seized a portion of the city’s Capital Hill neighborhood and forming the infamous CHAZ/CHOP zone of civil unrest. During the occupy event, four murders were committed within the imaginary boundaries of the demilitarized zone, as well as multiple rapes and violent assaults. City police were told to stand down, and law-abiding residents caught up within the tidal wave of craziness had no access to emergency services for days. Rioters in the state Capitol of Olympia erected a shanty-town in a downtown park with a similar spike in lawlessness, as the Governor chose to not declare a state of emergency, in failing to publicly and officially recognize the crises of CHAZ/CHOP, an unforgivable point that was brought to the attention of viewers during the 2020 Gubernatorial debate by his opponent. In the true spirit of Left Coast inexplicable politics, Inslee won his fourth term reelection campaign by a landslide.
However things may be changing.
With the resounding unsafe streets and divisiveness created by Inslee, California and Oregon Governors Gavin Newsome and Kate Brown, the fissure in the Democratic party continues to grow as those on the fringe are being opening ostracized by moderate members, receiving an increasing stream of deserved vitriol from their base as individuals question the support for special interests over the majority.
On a national level, the unrelenting platitudes and attack on Americans and the nation by prominent socialist liberals, combined with Biden’s plummeting approval numbers, and Harris’s listless and uninspired performance as an adequate sidekick, the reality of inflation and instability has many citizens revaluating their ideological affiliations.
In the Newtonian physics checks and balance system of policy, even with Inslee’s sensible effort to correct the legislation born from the visceral and not the logical, the dolt managed to sign a “high capacity” ammunition piece of legislative steaming garbage into law and nullifying any gains from the “oops, we went too far” resolution in at least recognizing that police have an impossible job. Even with the Governor’s rigid anti-Second Amendment agenda, constituents cannot forget his utter failure to protecting residents during the CHAZ/CHOP debacle, or over-compensation in penalizing the law enforcement environment in blindly interweaving elements of Black Lives Matter into a measure designed to significantly reduce the public safety of the masses to meet the demands of a few.
The example that sums up the last three years of strife, is a violent thug roaming free around downtown Seattle, who has been convicted 72 times, including 14 assaults. The city attorney had the audacity to ask for leniency after the repeat offender was arrested after sucker punching a random victim from behind in an unprovoked attack. While the startling news sent shockwaves throughout the community that the rights of criminals should outweigh those following the law, the repercussions of such reprehensible actions are just now being felt, as tolerance is no longer an adjective surrounding the brazen attempts by those unqualified and undeserving in attempting to reengineer society.
As the fetish of moral superiority and the condescending tone of self-proclaimed social justice warriors are being abolished by the stark reality of burglaries, vandalism, fraud and assaults surging, leftist Democrats are scrambling to do what they do best, rewrite history for the sake of self-preservation. In the selfish domain of politics, revisionism is part of the game, until the game itself changes for the better, which is a hopeful outcome as the country digs itself out of a contrived blizzard of fear-mongering and lies.
