The smugness of the emperor of cable news is not as intolerable as the peddling of propaganda.
The editorial staff at Ted Turner’s much maligned cable news empire sent out a monumental rebuke targeting Tucker Carlson and fleeing advertisers scurrying into the musty crawl space. Although Carlson’s bustling ratings continue an Everest style ascent, controversy arising from the host’s commentary regarding the Black Lives Matter movement is transformed into ammunition to attack the entire Fox Network, simply because only a sole opinion is allowed in these challenging times, where Constitutionality, morality, and reason, are all cast under the ideological bus driven by the ominous presence of Covid-19.
Fox still maintains a healthy lead in the cable news ratings marathon, according to the Nielsen ratings, however CNN has gained an advantage in winning the vaunted 25-54 audience, a demographic that leaves the advertising world salivating. And now Turner’s minions are on the offense in spurting out derogatory content aimed at Carlson and the propensity of corporations to turn a blind eye to actual ratings, and cater to a group of people who have no interest in equality, but hold the steadfast and insidious ulterior motive for ultimate control. The social justice warriors are merely being exploited as pawns in an ugly and arduous power struggle.
CNN, which has committed numerous indiscretions contributing to the fakest fakery of fake news hall of fame, recently penned this editorial and smear campaign castigating Carlson and the entire Fox News network. The article claims with all the subtlety and intellectual dishonesty of a contemporary tenured polyamorous university professor, that Fox viewers are too stupid to distinguish Black people from the Black Lives Matter campaign, a reprehensible and snarky indictment, as well as a back-handed social commentary on middle America.
CNN Business reporter Brian Stelter writes, “What many people heard Carlson telling his nearly 100% white audience was black-people-are-coming-for-you.”
Democracy thrives on differing perspectives, however Stelter insinuating through a blatant hit piece that Carlson aficionados suffer from a frontal lobe disorder pertaining to properly identifying a race of people from a movement defies any shred of credibility remaining within the network newsroom and executive suites. According to a conglomerate of polls, faith in Turner’s evil empire has plummeted since 2018, as viewers have become more skeptical as to the validity of information broadcast. Fox News has experienced a similar trend in declining audience trust, though not as drastic, and spurts of questionable coverage regarding the Seattle CHOP/CHAZ protest over the last ten days has been a noticeable and lingering deterrent to an issue afflicting the entire industry of journalism.
In reality and outside of the hazy dream world confines of social media, CNN is still number two, and continues to reinforce the notion that unscrupulous tactics will deployed to a severity of compromising objectivity and fact, in desperately and strenuously grasping for each and every ratings point, until the concept of truth is fatally tainted. Shaming Fox News advertisers through an editorial is just one method in an entire arsenal stocked with underhanded munitions. The other obvious play is to mislead the audience by broadcasting only half of the story, and a couple of freedoms could be lost due to felonious reporting, but it’s no harm-no foul when it comes to numbers and advertising dollars.
Speaking of two, the shameless duality of Turner and Hanoi Jane now holds the dubious distinction of committing political murder through unpatriotic acts over the span of five generations, an honor that certainly merits a statue, or at least a congressional award.
