“Do they really wonder why America has no respect for them? Sad!”
Every day Mike Huckabee’s daughter Sarah Huckabee-Sanders stands up and takes the heat from an often hostile audience who sometimes appears more interested in tearing down President Donald Trump, his administration, and our country, than they are in telling their American audience the truth.
No Wonder Trump Didn’t Waste His Time There
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee praised New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman for not condoning comedian Michelle Wolf’s jokes aimed at his daughter, press secretary Sarah Sanders.
According to ijr.com:
Mike Huckabee took to Twitter on Sunday morning to defend his daughter and tweeted his “sincere and heartfelt” gratitude to Haberman.
He thanked the White House correspondent for having the “guts to publicly denounce the vicious, vile attack” on his daughter at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Huckabee praised Sanders for handling it professionally but added, “I pray her kids never see that. I pray more they never bully another person like that.”
On Saturday night, Haberman tweeted that it was “impressive” that Sanders remained seated and didn’t walk out when she was criticized on national television for both her appearance and job performance.
During the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Wolf likened Sanders to Aunt Lydia from the show, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” who is played by actress Ann Dowd.
“I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. Like, she burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye,” Wolf said. “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s lies.”
Huckabee also criticized the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for moving away from its original goal to celebrate the First Amendment and instead celebrated “bullying, vulgarity, and hate.”
“They got all dressed up so they would look nicer when they had a hired gun savagely attack their guests,” he tweeted. “Do they really wonder why America has no respect for them? Sad!”
President Donald Trump didn’t attend the annual celebration and instead hosted a campaign rally in Michigan.”
