As Capitol Hill Democrats continued to press what many believe is a vindictive campaign to impeach departing President Donald Trump, at least one member of “The Squad”—a handful of far-left House members—resorted to name-calling following last week’s massive protest at the U.S. Capitol building.
This is happening against a backdrop of intense security efforts following a warning from the FBI regarding alleged plans for “armed protests at all 560 state capitals and in Washington in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
According to Fox News, “Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., said…she left the safe room with other members of Congress during the riot…last week because of her ‘treasonous, white supremacist, anti-masker’ colleagues.”
The second I realized our "safe room" from the violent white supremacist mob included treasonous, white supremacist, anti masker Members of Congress who incited the mob in the first place, I exited. Furious that more of my colleagues by the day are testing positive.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is rushing to impeach Trump, who leaves office in less than a week, insisting he needs to be charged because of the “seditious attack” on the Capitol by Trump supporters, according to Newsmax.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said she was worried she might be killed during the Capitol demonstration. According to Fox News, she said during an Instagram Live session, “I can tell you that I had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die. And you have all of those thoughts where, at the end of your life…all of these thoughts come rushing to you. And that’s what happened to a lot of us on Wednesday and I did not think – I did not know if I was going to make it to the end of that day alive.”
A far left political activist group calling itself Seattle Indivisible sent a Wednesday email blast to its supporters describing last week’s deadly protest as an attack by “a mob of right-wing insurrectionists” who “stormed the Capitol.” According to Newsmax, Pelosi wants Trump charged because of what she called a “seditious attack” at the Capitol by the president’s supporters.
Adding to the political bedlam, far-left Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and used the revelation to blame several Republican colleagues who were in a safe room with her and did not wear masks. However, the Daily Caller reported a Jan. 6 video showing Jayapal without a mask when she apparently was “taking cover in the House Gallery.”
Meanwhile, the FBI bulletin indicating armed protests “may start later this week and extend through” the inauguration has many people on edge, according to the Associated Press and Seattle Times. The story quoted the bulletin, which allegedly stated, “Armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols from 16 January through at least 20 January, and at the U.S. Capitol from 17 January through 20 January.”
Whether protests actually materialize remains to be seen.
