With the negativity abound in the mainstream press as the fear-mongering talking heads use blatant scare tactics as ratings boosters without any concern for the well-being of the viewers, positive content is difficult to find. Thankfully, the presence of a creative engineer, social video posting platform YouTube, and the development of a very special robot species recently came to the rescue. YouTuber Mark Rober featured the profile of an endorphin facilitating project that not only proves relevancy is still attainable after the mass defection to Chinese government run TikTok, and there is still hope that the US will not be a subsidiary of Beijing by the end of Biden’s Tenure.
Rober and team, featuring a trio of Bay area college engineering gurus, unleased a domino layout bot, affectionately known as “Dom” in a viral premiere, which has over 17 million views and 732 thousand likes. The machine boasts a Cheshire cat 747 jumbo jet toothy smile indicative of an earnest workers. Interfaced with a command module, “Dom” probably short for “magnificent”, managed to build a Super Mario Brothers themed domino wonderland covering the floor of a warehouse in just over 24 hours. In a abstract college aptitude style story problem, the Rober claims that it would take seven of the top domino artists over a week to accomplish the same feat.
In cruel fashion, the producers of the video placed a single domino Rembrandt in a workspace adjacent to Dom, showing that humanity does not have a change once the bot overlords achieve sentience.
The set-up of over 100 thousand multicolored dominos broke a Guinness World Record, and the best take from the story is watching the whole thing come down, and the realization that there is innovation still present outside of Amazon drone delivery empire of diminishing privacy.
