It is a blessing that common sense and intelligence are not stringent requirements for gaining acceptance into the graduate school of the criminally banal.
For a Louisiana man, this reality allowed the door of opportunity to remain slightly ajar when thwarting an intense armed robbery attempt. WBRZ-TV highlights the crazy narrative where the victim was apparently doing some early morning refurbishment on a home and was approached by an armed perp on a bicycle. The entire sordid incident involved cash withdrawn from an ATM and a trip to the victim’s actual residence, where the fireworks took place.
Allegedly, the man implemented the old “I’m telling you that I’m going inside to get cash, but I’m really going for my gun to end this situation” trick, and left the crook waiting outside. As the criminal succumbed to impatience and barged through the front door, the homeowner instantaneously flipped the situation and fired a single shot, which ultimately disarmed the robber turned intruder.
The crook faces a laundry list of charges that should keep him off the streets for a decade, while the temporary victim earns a place in the self-defense hall of fame for his quick thinking and proper firearms usage.
