A federal judge expressed deep skepticism Friday about the bank fraud case brought by special counsel Robert Mueller’s office against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Said he believes that Mueller’s motivation is to oust President Donald Trump from office.
According to Hannity.com:
A federal judge issued a stark rebuke to the special counsel’s office Friday, accusing Mueller’s team of “lying” to expand its investigation into Russian collusion in an attempt to deliberately target the President.
According to Fox News, US District Judge T.S. Ellis lashed-out at Mueller’s office during a hearing for former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort; saying the special counsel was using Manafort to dig-up information on the President.
“You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort,” said the judge. “You really care about what information Mr. Manafort can give you to lead you to Mr. Trump and an impeachment, or whatever.”
Ellis then demanded the team release the “scope memo,” a document outlining the initial “scope” of the investigation after the appointment of Robert Mueller to lead the probe into Russian collusion.
“We don’t want anyone with unfettered power,” he added
“He summed up the argument of the Special Counsel’s Office as, “We said this was what [the] investigation was about, but we are not bound by it and we were lying,’” writes Fox.
