The galactic expanses of Twitter are revisiting the blatant hinterlands of limiting the inner-community influence of right leaning ideology just two years after the prodigious domain found justification in banning content that could not be proved through empirical methods. At least that is the official position that Jack Dorsey’s brainchild is taking in elevating a group of Generation Xer techie progressives to moderate subjective posts aligned with a specific (Conservative) belief. As the noteworthy midterm elections approach as fast as incited social justice warrior whistle blower interject cultural hysteria into an online dialogue debating the livability of two neighborhoods, all eyes and brainwaves of smartphone users are on absorbing deliberately conjured myths.
The main difference between the contemporary environment of social networking discourse and 2020, is that it is common knowledge that the multi-billion dollar business model embellishes the number of organic end-users, as the vast majority of the platform is populated by bots and AI. Elon Musk saw this fatal flaw clearly and backed out of an historic deal as a result. It is fascinating that among the tycoon’s loyal followers, there is not a resounding consensus that the entire framework of the corporation including end users are involved in one giant game of make believe afflicted by inexplicable gullibility. Even in the face of these facts, oblivious smart phone users still buy into the constant branding that Twitter is a destination for micro-blogging and free speech. However, it is well-known that a significant proportion of the site is programmed with defiance and a coordinated censorship protocol towards Conservative viewpoints through a nails on the chalkboard approach to carpet bombing non-conforming individuals with a relentless liberal assault of a shrieking malfeasance. Pro-Second Amendment tweets? Examples of reasonable self-defense? Forget about it.
According to the already confusing and ambiguities of the corporation’s perpetually updated “Terms and Conditions” policy which is the size of a classic New York city phone book, the leadership has decreed that tweets that contain lexicon that is determined by the moderation squad to be non-factual shall be flagged, thus nullifying virtually anything that is posted. Though Dorsey is no longer with the company, he will always be synonymous with contributing to the consequences of both the world’s greatest and worst invention. While, it is unimaginable that a statement such as, “Chocolate ice cream is delicious,” will not be removed, the revamped, strict and unsustainable policy, is sure to be applied when politics are being considered.
The embroiled social media community, which like F***book, has faced multiple legal sanctions and fines from the governments for the sloppy handling of account holder’s personal data, and the misusage of it. New Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, has done little to elicit confidence that things will change. Most egregiously, the sensitive information of users has been exposed to rogue governments, as the trio of China, North Korea, and Russia attempt to disrupt the election process. With November just over the horizon and Republican’s likely gaining control of the House and the Senate, the unrelenting swarm of foreign bots will be an overwhelming factor in the Twittersphere, as the Silicon Valley hierarchy will use the international insidious (and some domestic) elements to gain what is construed as a political advantage across the entire span of the social networking industry.
In the wake of the raid on Trump’s complex and the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act the Twitter app is already abuzz with the condescending echoes of extremism brought forth by the counterculture movement. As the amputation of vernacular continues to haunt the legions of reasonable citizens fighting tooth and nail for the preservation of their basic liberties, reactionary digital mediums drift towards irrelevancy, however they still pose a danger for the near future voting trends through groupthink coercion by a reverence to propaganda.
Disturbingly, in the horrific environment of the information age being right, or receiving validation electronically through a smartphone by a peers, is more important than the truth, the earth suddenly becomes flat, and the US decays into a socialist’s paradise.
