Who needs the news headline insanity generated by Florida, when California exists?
The toxic combination of the threat of earthquakes, snide celebrities, sprawling suburbs and deplorable politicians has finally run its course in causing a general feeling of angst among residents and reached the animal kingdom. Well, at least the avian hierarchy.
A rogue peacock made its presence felt in an Arcadia, California liquor store and caused quite a scene before being detained by animal control, FOX-LA reports. The majestic winged creature simply strolled through the front door of the booze dispensary in the suburb of Los Angeles, and according to witnesses instantly became spooked, due to the prevalence of customers filming the bird and the vast selection of whiskeys. As in the true spirit of California, patrons grasped their “smart”phones to document the commotion, rather than assisting with efforts to capture the animal. After countless bottles were destroyed in the melee, the animal control agent was able to subdue the bird and transport it to a park.
The mantra in the Golden State is clear, do not expect the aid of a good samaritan, but make sure to be dressed appropriately for the passable efforts (please tilt the camera lengthwise) of multiple amateur camera operators.
