In a day where many closed-minded liberal stations, politicians and citizens spend their days trying desperately to find fault with everything Trump, this Obama Official stepped up.
Anne-Marie Slaughter, who served as the director of policy planning for former President Barack Obama, praised Trump’s recent missile strike in Syria for drawing a line and saying the United States won’t tolerate the regime’s use of chemical weapons.
According to ijr.com:
On Saturday, Slaughter tweeted her support for the strike on the basis that she believes the U.S., United Kingdom, and France “did the right thing.”
“It will not stop the war nor save the Syrian people from many other horrors,” she tweeted. “It is illegal under international law.”
However, she concluded, “It at least draws a line somewhere and says enough.”
On Friday night, the three nations joined forces and fired 105 missiles into Syria to destroy three targets that help produce and carry out chemical attacks.
Since President Donald Trump didn’t get congressional approval before he ordered the strike, the legality of the decision has been called into question.
Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley echoed Slaughter’s sentiments during a special U.N. meeting, during which she declared that when Trump draws a red line, he enforces it.
“If the Syrian regime uses this poisonous gas again, the United States is locked and loaded,” she explained.
The strike has been met with a mix of reactions, and on Saturday, Trump praised the attack for being “perfectly executed” and producing the best possible result.”
