The Second Amendment Foundation this week announced its 2023 television advertising campaign, alerting gun owners about President Joe Biden’s continuing campaign to “ban guns and turn the right to keep and bear arms into a government-regulated privilege.”
The organization ran advertising for many weeks during 2022 in which Biden’s remarks during a CNN Townhall gathering about his desire to ban semiautomatic rifles and 9mm pistols were the centerpiece.
“SAF is returning to the airwaves following a brief hiatus,” SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb confirmed, “and we mean business. We will be running our 60-second message on about 30 different media outlets. We are not about to let Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and their allies in the media, push their one-sided anti-gun-rights agenda.”
Even with the Republican takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives, Biden is pressing ahead with his efforts. He is continuing his anti-gun crusade, renewing his push to ban so-called “assault weapons” following two high-profile mass shootings last month in California, in Monterey and Half Moon Bay.
In a SAF news release, Gottlieb said the foundation’s message will be appearing on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax TV, One America News Network, Destination America, Bloomberg, BBC America, Discovery Channel, American Heroes Channel, SYFY (Science Fiction), TLC (The Learning Channel), TruTV, DirecTV, The Weather Channel, HLN, Dish TV, and CNBC, plus these additional channels: Great America Country, Outside TV, GAC Living, World Fishing Channel, TV Game, MGM-HD and RFD, among other networks.
The message underscores SAF’s legal actions challenging state and federal gun control laws.
“Thanks to our messaging,” Gottlieb said, “Americans have been informed and reminded of the importance of our Second Amendment. Now, with skyrocketing crime expanding into our neighborhoods as far-left politicians labor to defund police and push soft-on-crime policies, people realize the threat Biden and his cronies pose as they attack our gun rights.
“There is no time to waste,” Gottlieb said. “We’re once again asking viewers to call a special toll-free telephone number – (800) 699-0992 – and press #1 to get in the fight, because once you lose your rights, you will never get them back.”
