First they said, “Just give us the House.” And we did. Then they said, “Just give us the Senate.” And we did. Now they say “Just give us the Presidency.” And we are all that stand in their way.
It has become abundantly clear to most in the grassroots of the Republican party that the establishment — the GOPe — is not on our side. We are the enemy — not the Democrats, the progressives, the far leftists, even the socialists that they pretend to fight — or at least they used to pretend to fight. The rise of Paul Ryan to House Speaker and the passing of the $1.1 Trillion Omnibus bill — giving Obama everything he wanted — showed us that all of our blood, sweat and tears to give the GOP both chambers of Congress was in vain, as the end results would have been no different had we failed. Ultimately, the fat and powerful at the trough despise us and will contrive to steal the executive branch — and with it, the judiciary — having used us and then tossed us aside like two dollar whores.
In the aftermath of big spender George W. Bush’s final years in office, TARP (remember that) and the election of Barack Obama to President of the United States, the world shook as disenfranchised and forgotten voters rose up to lay claim to the America in which they grew up and prospered, with each subsequent generation achieving a bit more than the last.
The tea party evolved from protests to leading presidential candidates in seven short years and the GOPe was happy to come along for the ride, gaining more power in Washington and state houses across the country. But the establishment never expected the insurgency to recognize their deceitfulness and turn against them. The GOPe never expected the celebrity real estate tycoon, Donald Trump, or the “whacko-bird” Ted Cruz to reignite the brushfire of freedom in the minds of a hungry electorate, demanding that we want our country back. They never thought we would point our dirty fingers at them en masse and say “You too, are the enemy of the American dream.”
In 2010, Adam Schrager and Rob Witwer wrote “The Blueprint: How the Democrats Won Colorado (and Why Republicans Everywhere Should Care),” describing in detail how liberals crafted a plan to transform the rocky mountain state from red to blue — which they succeeded in doing in 4 years. The techniques pioneered in Colorado have been recognized by both parties and pundits as the future of American politics, and indeed, the GOPe has created its own plan, not to defeat the Democrats, but to defeat us –the vulgarian masses.
The Conservative Treehouse documents in detail how the GOPe plan is working as predicted, and how there is only one candidate who was not a variable in the original Republican establishment roadmap — Donald Trump. As soon as Trump entered the arena, their entire strategic plan had to be modified. But they’ve got their ducks lined up in a row…including media stars Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin. Soon the rest of the presidential candidates who fall by the wayside will throw their weight behind the only viable GOPe candidate, Marco Rubio.
It’s a fascinating and frightening look at how the Republican Party has systematically put rules and processes in place and sold seats at the table to the elitists and the corporatists in the political class and media, all the while wearing down the psyche of the electorate.
Our ever-prescient Founding Fathers predicted this course. Thomas Jefferson famously said, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” It turns out that sometimes the tyrants are in your own house and you are all that stands between them and all that you hold dear. It is time to turn them out and by divine Providence, in 2016, we have been given the tools to do exactly that. We were born for this fight.
