As public school systems in all 50 states are puppets to the politics and systematic gridlock of powerful and lucrative education system, it is not about the development of the student, but rather the perpetuation of an organizational entity rivaling the servitude and cold-blooded workmanlike viciousness of an anthill.
Certainly pupils are exploited as strategic pawns and are given the minimum amount of credence required by voters, in school districts justifying the hiring of additional support staff, while the attenuated resource supply chain has the teachers fighting for scraps in a horrendous example of bureaucratic influenced trickle down economics. While the unions and school boards hold the ultimate power, tax-paying parents have little say and virtually zero pull in ensuring that their children are receiving a comprehensive and balanced education, a harsh lesson learned on a national scale for those battling to preserve the dwindling integrity that remains within public education.
Nowhere is this harrowing modern reality more apparent than in Loudoun County, Virginia, where moms and dads are battling the echo chamber of the social justice movement and Black Lives Matter, as extremist ideology has infiltrated the county’s school board and bringing with it Critical Race Theory (CRT), not to be confused with invaluable critical thinking skills, to the table with a heaping side of willful defiance by none other than elected officials. The name of the county should ring a bell with Second Amendment advocates, as a strict anti-gun ordinance was passed last April, banning firearms in parks, community centers, and government buildings. To exacerbate matters, even though Virginia at least for now is effectively an open carry state, the measure sent shockwaves through the gun rights lobby in the form of legitimate concerns regarding the practice of municipalities engaged in drafting and enforcing policies not congruent to the Second Amendment. Aside from dealing with stringent firearms restrictions, the law-abiding citizens must combat a direct assault on free speech rights emanating from public education leaders.
In the wake of teacher Bryan Cross’s impassioned plea for the sake of sanity in not intermixing identity politics with lesson plans during a townhall meeting, the county is now a glaring template for Murphy’s Law clashing with Murphy Brown’s progressivism, as the instant gratification activism takes precedence over reason, tradition, and reason.
Cross was suspended from his job for exercising First Amendment and religious rights, and the already tedious situation has decayed to a level of toxicity laced with radium according to a Fox News article. Parent versus school board clashes rivaling an MME alley way street brawls have transformed neighborly public meetings into shouting matches worthy of a viral content exclusively available through a streaming service. Though not unique to Loudoun County, the complete lack of decorum shown by elected officials in handling contrary opinions, has unfortunately become throughout the country, as differences in political beliefs lead to accusations or worse.
Residents of the affluent, yet primarily blue leaning county in proximity to Washington DC, now find themselves at the top of the trending headlines, as the reasonable minority realize that they have been designated the unfortunate Guinea pigs in a risky societal engineering experiment that could be the precursor to a brutal cultural war. This ugly and despicable script is repeated across the country in townhalls, city councils, and legislatures, as elected officials on all levels of government crossed the threshold of sanctimony and arrogance, that public forums have devolved into mere circus soap opera spectacles, where bureaucratic cretins can assert their underserved will over constituents, in removing power from a speaker faster than a talk radio host can silence a caller with one click of a button.
The tactic of extremists deploying the win at all costs mentality has spilled over the social media substrate and into the sleepy communities of peaceful contentment, threatening the solitude of residents, many of which do not have a stake in the fight. If that’s not unsettling enough, parents actively resisting the educational directives of the Loudoun school districts and understandably concerned that curriculum designed to intimidate and indoctrinate children is overwrought with elements of active brainwashing, are being ceaselessly hunted and electronically purged by the Red guard of the social justice movement. The putrid and preferred guerilla-style of method is to divulge various facets of personal information including phone numbers, email addresses, places of employment and home locations, so that the legions of miscreants can pester and harass those who do not subscribe to CRT as the being the endgame to all of life’s problems. Disturbingly, these Bolshevik style raids of personal privacy in violating of every guarantee upheld by the Constitution are actually being organized and facilitated by specific members of the school board, an egregious violation of the oath taken to the office, not to mention a monumental breach of tax-payer’s trust.
Allegedly, incumbent Loudoun county school board member Beth Barts is the engine behind the machine of internecine powering the digital smear and activism campaign against residents resisting the transformation of their kids into reactionary zombies. Her online behavior became so vicious and unruly at one point, that the school board was forced to take action that only a school board can, by not terminating her, but simply removing her from an array of non-essential duties. Though insufferable, the severity of discipline was barely perceptible, and is not a shock considering that 7 out of the 9 leaders of the county’s educational governing body identify as Democrat. The token gesture of sanctions, which does not even equate to an effective slap on the wrist compared what Cross endured, further incited a majority of the community, and has brought folks from obscure corners of the expansive nation into the heated theatrics of what has far transcended the politeness or effectiveness of debate.
Unfortunately, students not yet afflicted with CRT are learning through osmosis that simply existing as white and middle class is equivalent to being a lazy entitled bigot, as defined by the highly regulated and militarized equity futures exchange perpetuating cultural norms founded on the volatile principals of fringe cryptocurrency. While children cannot chose their race, or the economic status of their parents, confusing and subversive lessons are forced into the collective frontal cortex of the nation’s future by callous bullies and minions to radicalism, leaving a subsequent mess for reasonable Americans to clean-up. Somewhere beneath the lonely Winter snow and ice in the desolate wilderness surrounding Arkhangelsk, a poignant and fateful memory stirs.
