With no natural predators, at the apex of the food chain, the Orca, or Killer Whale answers to no one. Groups or pods of the usually docile creatures are permanent inhabitants of the rocky inland waterways of British Columbia and Washington State, where things can sometimes get interesting as the trademark dorsal fin appears.
YouTube channel ViralHog obtained exclusive and breathtaking footage of a pack of Orcas coordinating a savage attack on a Sea Lion in the Howe Sound, off the coast of British Columbia.
This is definitely not Sea World.
Fortunately, the camera captured the shear size, scale and raw power of multiple specimens in the chilly waters of an unscripted wild encounter, all while maintaining balance and averting catastrophe aboard a small boat. Unfortunately, the camera operator needs to learn to rotate the device lengthwise to ensure a more telling shot.
Allegedly, the Sea Lion was not mortally wounded after the valiant attempt of the Killer Whales at a suitable lunch.
