The world of Crossfit competition will temporarily coalesce with the firearms community, as it was recently proclaimed that event winners will receive Glock pistols for prizes. The announcement has caused a rash and reboant backlash through social media, including an on-line petition pleading for a retraction in offering guns as prizes. With Reebok as the sport’s current headline sponsor, the pending drama should be compelling.
With a reputation of offering grueling athletic strength and cardio challenges, Crossfit plans to facilitate the gold for glocks award system at the 2016 national competition (July 19-July 22) in California.
Crossfit Director Dave Castro a former Navy Seal made this official statement, “The top male athlete, the top female athlete, and every member of the winning team will receive a GLOCK pistol.”
