Political forecasting appears to have an increasingly dismal complexion for Joe Biden and Democrats, and according to Fox News, “liberal media networks such as MSNBC and CNN, as well as newspapers like Forbes and The Washington Post, expressed concern that President Biden was not seeing a bump in his poll numbers or receiving credit for his response to Ukraine and his impact on the “roaring” U.S. economy.
Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking poll for Thursday shows Biden with a -24 Presidential Approval Index rating, which is not good, though up from the -30 he faced late last week. While 22 percent of likely voters “strongly approve” of Biden’s job performance, more than twice that number (46%) “strongly disapprove.”
Tellingly, CBS News has reportedly hired Mick Mulvaney, a former Trump administration official, as a paid on-air contributor in preparation for what is described as a potential “Democratic midterm wipeout.” Perhaps just as telling—about CBS News—is that the network decision is “drawing backlash within the company.” According to MSN, one CBS employee speaking anonymously said “I know everyone I talked to…was embarrassed about the hiring.”
Was anyone over at ABC ever embarrassed about hiring George Stephanopoulos, the former Democratic party advisor who worked as White House communications director for former President Bill Clinton?
Maybe the most revealing comment of all came from another anonymous CBS employee who reportedly stated, “Everyone is baffled…It makes no sense to hire a guy whose entire job was to lie to us on behalf of Trump.” With that perspective, one might presume—if not conclude—there is a decidedly biased attitude against a Republican administration, or at least the former president. Is there any wonder why Donald Trump complained about “fake news” and bias?
As reported by Fox News, “MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, on multiple occasions, attempted to paint Biden’s handling of the economy in a positive light despite record inflation, sky-high gas prices and poor poll numbers for the president.
“During a March 1 segment on MSNBC,” Fox added, “Todd pointed to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll which indicated 51% of registered voters believed the U.S. economy was in a recession or a depression. He also made note of a Washington Post/ABC News poll in which 75% of polled adults viewed the economy as not so good or poor.”
This fall, voters may vote with their pocketbooks and shrinking bank accounts. Under those conditions, the party in power always loses.
A separate Fox story about the latest Biden poll numbers said this: “The president stands at 45% approval and 54% disapproval in the latest Fox News national poll, and average all the most recent surveys gauging Biden’s standing that was compiled by Real Clear Politics puts him at 41%-53%.”
Throw in the “frosting” on this cake: The Biden administration’s continued war on gun rights. Watch for U.S. gun owns to turn out in huge numbers this fall, helping flip Congress back to Republican control. Biden’s White House recently released a report about “Taking on Gun Crime and Violence with a Whole-of-Government Approach.” It talks about gun control, banning so-called “assault weapons with high- capacity magazines” but not about incarcerating armed criminals or closing the revolving doors of the court system.
Where Donald Trump habitually mentioned protecting the Second Amendment in his speeches, Biden perpetuates canards about restrictions on gun owners in early Constitutional America.
Whatever else they are, gun owners are also consumers and taxpayers, and their wallets, along with their firearms rights, have been under attack since Biden took office and Democrats took over on Capitol Hill. Last November, Virginia gun owners helped flip the entire state administration and majority in the House. A repeat on the national scale could be looming.
