In the dark alleyway of international diplomacy, a rogue game of hand-me-down checkers is being played terribly marked by idle threats and no chance of a winner.
As the super computer “Joshua” learned in the movie War Games, the reality of global thermonuclear war is no one chooses to play, everybody wins. Of course, politicians tempted by the narcissistic tic-tac-toe game of social networking, continue to wallow in the boring volley of barbed insults, and doing their worst in trying to impersonate the pre-fight antics of pay–per-view gods, Mcgregor and Mayweather.
Once again the sideshow of Trump and Kim Jong Un reared its ugly head at the center of the global stage Friday, as another “Presidential After Dark” tweet completely downplayed the treat of nuclear war. According to Hannity.com, the President responded to a ridiculous post from the North Korean dictator in true resounding fashion, and calling Un a “madman” and insinuating that the tyrant has no regard for his citizens.
The exchange of angrily worded war of words, came in the wake of Trump announcing an executive order Thursday, which put extreme pressure and the threat of sanctions on US companies currently doing business with North Korea. Friday’s tweet from the president, was apparently in direct response to Un, who fired back that Trump would “pay dearly” for previous social networking dialogue referencing the North Korean regime. As the texting battle between two belligerent leaders wages on, the world can only hope that the poor example set by two consenting adults will not force the younger generations into a cascading cycle de-evolution, marked by the inability to turn off the device and engage in real life and effective dialogue.
